[ Without hearing another response, the edges of Lavi's mouth quirked towards a downwards curve, and he wondered if this was a matter worth fretting over. This could have been the sort of typical brooding, the kind that hardly strayed from normalcy. But the weight of his tone felt heavy, and the harsh words (that hardly ever left an impact on Lavi) created a knot in this pit of his stomach, and he couldn't help but feel concern.
By the time he found himself outside Kanda's door, the worry had begun to subdue. He figured, perhaps, that he had brought this apprehension out on his own. The other always seemed somewhat annoyed (if not incredibly annoyed), after all. Still, he tossed the act of his carefree behavior aside and kept a straight face as he knocked once before entering on his own accord.
He tentatively peeks in at first, opening the door slowly and breaking the silence of the room as it creaked in protest. Without expecting a greeting from the other (especially when he is hidden beneath his blankets), Lavi steps in and crosses the room. ]
Hey. [ The action could very well end up with a hard kick, but he takes a spot at the edge of the bed. ]
[At first Kanda doesn't hear him, but the small dip of the bed makes his presence known. He had been close to falling asleep, but now that the Bookman is present, he can't bring himself to close his eyes.
The kick doesn't come. Kanda turns around instead, body shifting beneath the blankets as he draws closer to Lavi and buries his face into his side. His hand sneaks beneath the covers, searching blindly for Lavi's own palm. He finds his knee with no luck.
This is his baggage, his hangup to deal with ultimately.]
[ There's a light smile at Kanda's attempt to find his hand - as he assumes that he is not in search of his knee. Lavi brushes his fingertips against the top of Kanda's hand, adjusting slightly until he can intertwine their fingers together. ]
You're always so sleepy. [ He says with a faint chuckle, his tone gentle with a touch of playfulness. ]
